We will pass thru Naples, seeing Mt. Vesuvius in distance on the way to Pompeii; once a thriving empire over 1,900 years ago, it was devastated by eruption of Mt Vesuvius. As you enter Pompeii by Sea Gate, short walk takes you to city's hub, Forum. Surrounded by temples & porticoes. Admire mansions & art of wealthy patricians. View paintings & inscriptions. We will drive to Valley of Temples and visit many of them, beginning with the Temple of Jupiter (Zeus). And finally, the Tempio di Hera Lacinia (dedicated to Juno, or her Greek equivalent, Hera).
